Building Wooden Toys--December

Unleash your Inner Santa Claus: Learn to be Make Wooden Toys!

Join Wes Meyer and the guild instructors as they take you through the process of building wooden toys. You will craft these toys from wood blocks and shape them by progressive steps in drilling and cutting to create of the toy. You will also learn how you can increase your productivity in the shop as the process is enhanced by several jigs to guide the work.

You will make a set of three trucks and a five-car toy train. Students will use the table saw, band saw, drill press, and router table to speed up the work. These toys are favorites of children and their parents.

• Expected Skills: Use of Table Saw, Band Saw, Drill Press, and Router Table, and a jovial spirit
• Tool List: 6” or 12" adjustable square, sanding block

Fees & Payment:

Class fees are based on your Guild membership level at the time you sign up for the class. Payment is required at the time of enrollment.

• "Sawdust Maker" Guild membership level price: $60
• "Woodworker Plus" / "Benefactor" Guild membership level price (20% discount): $48

Withdrawal Policy: Withdrawals made within seven (7) days of the start of the class will NOT receive a refund.

Important Requirements:

• Green Name Badge Is Required: Students must have a Green Name Badge to enroll in this class.
• Green Name Badge Requirements: You must complete the Guild’s online safety test and the Safety Orientation or Rough-to-Ready before the first course meeting. (The Membership Director provided access to the test in the welcome email you received upon joining.)
